The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

October 24th, 2007 by Melanie

My most favorite time of the year is NOW.  October through December.  These three months just make me feel good.  It starts getting cooler outside, the leaves change into such wonderful colors (my favorite colors – red, gold, orange, brown), apple cider, hot chocolate and hot tea become the beverages of choice, Thanksgiving comes, there are afternoons of baking cookies with my favorite little girls, then Christmas is just around the corner with special trees, gifts, parties, and the best food of the year.  Friends and families get together… homes, stores, and neighborhoods are decorated for the season… it’s just wonderful!

I really even enjoy the spirit of football season.  I don’t necessarily care to watch the games, but I don’t mind it being on - Tony’s excitement building, and me taking a nap on the couch.  It’s also fun to use the excuse of a football game as social time!  We’re going to spend the weekend in the mountains in a couple of weeks with my family to see the UT/Arkansas game, and I can hardly wait for the festivities.

This is also the time that the new Broadway tour and

Nashville ballet begins its new season at TPAC.  I’m going to see “My Fair Lady” on Friday (it will be Tony’s first experience, so I’ll let you know how it goes) and the ballet on Sunday.  My mom and I have been going to the theatre for several years together now and I treasure our special time together.  It also helps to keep me inspired for my dance classes and future creations.

So, welcome fall… welcome holidays… I’m ready!
