10 DAYS AND COUNTING!

September 19th, 2007 by Melanie

We’re in the homestretch here… I have 10 days before the ONE day I’ve been waiting for since I was a little girl.  I’m so excited I can hardly contain myself, and then within moments I’m reminded of the list of tasks that must be accomplished in those 10 days… take a little sigh… and remind myself it’s all worth it.  I’ll never have a big party like this again.  I’ve waited 27 years for it, and want to do it all right.  The best part is having Tony as my partner in all this and for the rest of my life.  We went to dinner last night (first time to see each other in almost 2 weeks) and as I looked across the table at him thinking about what fun we have together, I reminded myself that I get to do this forever.  I wouldn’t choose anyone different to eat a $10 burger with.  (It was my first time to Red Robin.)

Tony had dinner ALONE with my parents while I was out of town last weekend.  I asked if it was weird, and thankfully he said that only walking in alone was the odd part.  But during all the rest, he felt as comfortable as though I were there.  I’m so glad he feels a part of my family so easily.  One of the conversations at the table was my horrible eating habits and crazy schedule.  He’s hoping to bring some consistency to my life.  We talked about healthy eating, healthy living, and healthy leaving the house in the morning.  I warned him what a beast I can be (I HATE mornings and getting up, but my goal is to get up earlier, eat a good breakfast, and have some time with God before work)… but he said that as long as I give him a kiss goodbye and say “I love you,” he will put up with the beast, knowing I just need to wake up.

So here’s to a quick and productive 10 day stretch, and some bettter habits.

There’s nothing better than waking up with the man you love, every morning. I even like the stinky breath wars we have blowing in each others face! YUCK! Kent’s out of town right now, so it was really hard getting up this morning without him. You’ll see that the beast won’t be around as much anymore!! Who knows, you might even become a morning person!! That might be pushing it, but there would be benefits!
